THEFT IN THE LOCAL SUPERMARKET

Yesterday at 6:30pm, I visited the supermarket located near the Harmony Street. I was bewildered to witness an unethical and uncivilized act of theft going on. Encountering these types of situations in the local supermarket happens once in a blue moon.

A young boy, nearly in his teens was suspiciously walking down the aisle. He was noticing everyone and everything. Knowing that the cameras were watching his every move, he picked the greens from a shelf and quickly kept them inside his bag as he knew about the careless guards who sat talking, not caring about what the cameras showed on the screens.

I was surprised to see the young boy wearing a red sweatshirt and a pair of jeans stealing nothing else but vegetables. It made me curious. As he ran out of the superstore, I called after him. He looked at me once and then immediately dissapeared through the crowd.

The time he looked at me, I saw tears in his eyes and guilt in his voice as he screamed while running. He was poor and I could tell that by the way he was dressed. There was not much I could do as the boy who just vanished like thin air must be hungry for days or suffering from an illness.

Youngsters today, do not like to eat vegetables at all but that boy stole nothing but greens. I was astonished and so i decided to pay for the young boy.
