THE RISING PROBLEM DUE TO OVER POPULATION: TRAFFIC JAM

"Stuck Again!" is one of the aggressive sentences heard from the various vehicle drivers driving on and near the roads of H-8 Islamabad. The area is covered with several institutes, offices and hospitals. It is mostly crowded during school and office hours, as well as the weekends. Self driven cars and public transport i.e. taxis and buses, are the common types of vehicles which jampack the roads.

This scenario is worsened on hot sunny days and Fridays, when everyone is in a hurry to reach their desired destinations. On these specific days even the most educated people become insane, uncivilized and ill-tempered citizens of Pakistan. These traffic jams are the major cause of early morning road accidents, deaths of innocent pedestrians, and it is also a fruit less time consumer.

I would like to suggest the Government of Pakistan to make a few changes so that the traffic jams become rare or extinct. The traffic police should issue challans to the ones who break the signals or traffic rules. There should be more traffic signals and zebra crossing boards. Police attendants should be on duty to escort the children and help them cross the roads. Furthermore, the roads should be widened and footpaths should be made on the sides of the road.

None of the people travelling like to get stuck in a traffic jam for hours. So of course the community will become peaceful and content. There will be no more honking of horns and curses of people heard near institutes and hospitals. The early morning car accidents and injuries will be reduced to minimum.

I aspire that someone who is responsible to correct the traffic regime should fulfil his responsibility and the community should not sit back and relax but contribute. The people of this country should learn to be patient and stop snatching rights of the other individuals. If the people are educated and civilized then these kind of problems would not occur.
